The Latin Programme Summer School 2024

Dates: 29th July - 2nd August 2024
Time:
9am-3pm
Venue:
Argyle Primary School, Tonbridge Street, London, WC1H 9EG

The Latin Programme Summer School is back! Thanks to the generous support of the Classical Association, this year we are excited to be bringing another week of fun and creative activities to learners in London.

THE THEME: TERRA FIRMA (‘SOLID GROUND’)

Participants will explore the natural world through craft and gardening sessions, engage with ancient myth through storytelling, and discover Roman London. As in previous years, there will be a wide range of creative sessions spanning poetry, music, art and more.

No prior knowledge of Latin or Classics is required!

THE FORMAT

After our pilot of the hybrid event last year, this year we are returning to full days in-person. However, we remain committed to providing an online offering for those who cannot join us in London. Virtual participants will be able to access recordings of some Summer School sessions as well as special live events, digital worksheets and resources.

THE COST

This year, to guarantee good levels of attendance and ensure a positive experience for all involved, we are asking for a £10 donation (via the Donorbox form on this page) to secure a place on the Summer School (for in-person attendees only). All participants will then receive a goody bag of the same value at the end of the week.

We remain committed to making the Summer School as accessible as possible: if this cost will prevent you registering for the Summer School, please email hannah@thelatinprogramme.co.uk.

AGE GROUPS

Our Summer School is for KS2 and KS3 pupils. We split our participants into age groups and pitch our lessons accordingly.
